Audioindex develops and delivers audioguide systems for public environments.
The Audioindex system makes it very easy for everyone, including elderly and disabled people to assimilate information in the form of sound. Our systems can also be used by people with hearing aids.
The system is based on RFID technology, which enables a reader to intercept audio information just by swiping it in the vicinity
of an information carrier. The sound can be presented in various forms - from professional studio productions to text translated by speech synthesis in real time.
The Audioindex concept originated in research at the Institute of Design at Umeå University in collaboration with the libraries in the Umeå region in the project Library 2007.
